We need a strong transnational feminist and transfeminist antipatriarchal movement more than ever. The pandemic has hit hard women, LGBTQIA+ persons, migrants, essential workers, care workers and precarious workers, intensifying oppressions and hierarchies, and strengthening repressive, hate and discriminatory measures. It is urgent to fight against intensified patriarchal violence, precarization of life and abuses of all sorts! Women and LGBTQI people are struggling against virulent attacks, but we have continued to communicate across the borders, advancing plans of struggle and conquering rights that we won’t give up. We have opposed the extreme rights and given visibility to pressing issues like care work, while keeping on organizing. Now, looking at 8 March 2022, we want to get together to imagine our plan of struggle in direction of a powerful transnational feminist strike.

 We invite all to an open online assembly on Sunday Feb 13th at 13 Chile/17 Spain/19 Turkey to discuss the political phase and think together about common actions and watchwords for our transnational 8 March.

 From Latin America to Eastern Europe, we know that behind national and international recovery plans to restart the economy, restructure the labour market and incentivize women’s work lie more inequality, more patriarchal violence, more institutional racism, border violence, extreme exploitation of labour and territories and unequal access to vaccines. Plans for the green transition are not only totally insufficient vis a vis the climate crisis, but even risk to worsen it, reproducing patriarchy, exploitation and racism.

 Current conditions make the process of the feminist strike something that we cannot give up, but also something that needs to be revived and reconfigured: unemployment, job losses, heavier workloads for women in the houses and workplaces, and a tighter sexist division of labor make it urgent to imagine new ways to strike against the exploitation of our productive and reproductive labor. We need to identify claims and terrains of struggle to actualize the process of the strike so that it expresses our opposition – as women, migrants, LGBTQIA people – to patriarchal violence in all its forms and in its structural dimension.

 A common imagery, common slogans and shared discourses are needed for and after 8 March: how to deepen and enlarge a transnational communication that makes it possible to empower our local, national and regional struggles and movements? How to face the rise of right-wing parties with a strong feminist political initiative? How to fight transnationally governments’ and international institutions’ (IMF, EU…) attempt, that we witness on the global level, to reproduce patriarchal subordination, social and racist hierarchies through neoliberal reconstruction plans?

 Let’s build together this process and a transnational strategy of struggle starting from our experiences, claims and common analysis!

Un fuerte movimiento feminista, transfeminista y antipatriarcal transnacional es más urgente que nunca. La pandemia ha golpeado con fuerza a las mujeres, las personas LGBTQIA+, les migrantes y trabajadores esenciales, las y les cuidadores, les trabajadores precarizades, intensificando opresiones y jerarquías, y fortaleciendo medidas represivas, de odio o discriminatorias. ¡Luchar contra la intensificación de la violencia patriarcal, la precarización de la vida y los abusos de todo tipo es urgente! Las mujeres y las personas LGBTQIA+ estamos luchando contra ataques virulentos, y hemos seguido articulándonos más allá de las fronteras, avanzando en programas de lucha en distintos territorios y conquistando derechos que no dejaremos que nos arrebaten. Hemos sido oposición y hemos logrado frenar la extrema derecha en diversos territorios, hemos sido voces lúcidas que visibilizan temas urgentes del cuidado, y hemos avanzado en nuestra articulación. Ahora, de cara al 8 de marzo de 2022, queremos reunirnos para imaginar juntes nuestro plan de lucha en dirección a una poderosa huelga feminista, transfeminista y antipatriarcal transnacional.

 Invitamos a todes a una asamblea abierta online el domingo 13 de febrero a las 10.00 de México/13.00 de Chile-Argentina/17.00 de España/19.00 de Turquía para discutir la fase política que estamos viviendo en nuestros distintos territorios, pensar en acciones coordinadas y consignas comunes para nuestro 8 de marzo transnacional.

 Desde Abya Yala hasta Europa del Este, sabemos que los planes de recuperación nacionales e internacionales para reactivar la economía, reestructurar el mercado laboral e incentivar el trabajo crean más desigualdad económica, violencia patriarcal, racismo institucional, violencia en las fronteras y explotación laboral y de los territorios, mientras la geopolítica sanitaria condena pueblos por falta de acceso a vacunas. Los planes para la transición verde no solo son totalmente insuficientes frente a la crisis climática y ecológica, sino que incluso corren el riesgo de agravarla a costa del bienestar de los pueblos, reproduciendo injusticias coloniales, patriarcales y de clase.

 Las condiciones actuales hacen del proceso de la huelga del 8M algo a lo que no podemos renunciar, pero también algo que necesita ser revivido y reconfigurado: el desempleo, la pérdida de puestos de trabajo, la carga del trabajo no remunerado en las casas y lugares de trabajo y el endurecimiento de la división sexual del trabajo hacen urgente imaginar nuevas formas de huelga contra la explotación de nuestro trabajo productivo y reproductivo.

Necesitamos identificar reivindicaciones y terrenos de lucha para actualizar el proceso de la huelga de manera que exprese nuestra oposición –como mujeres, migrantes, personas LGBTQIA+- a la violencia patriarcal en todas sus formas y en su dimensión estructural.

Necesitamos avanzar en un imaginario político común, construir consignas transversales y discursos compartidos para el 8 de marzo y más allá de este hito. ¿Cómo profundizar y ampliar una comunicación transnacional que permita potenciar nuestras luchas y movimientos locales, nacionales y regionales? ¿Cómo enfrentar el ascenso de los partidos de derecha y extrema derecha desde una fuerte iniciativa política feminista? ¿Cómo luchar contra el intento de los organismos transnacionales como el FMI y la UE y los gobiernos a nivel mundial de continuar reproduciendo la subordinación patriarcal y las jerarquías sociales y racistas a través de los planes de reconstrucción neoliberales?

 Construyamos juntes este proceso y una estrategia de lucha transnacional a partir de nuestras experiencias, demandas y diagnósticos comunes.
